Musicianship: Jill has been playing the Darabuka for 11 years
and teaching Egyptian rhythms for 7 years. Jill has developed her own
music notes to make it easy for anyone to learn. In her class she
incorporates Zill, Tabal & req & Djembe encouraging all to try a
second instrument. Each month Jill has her music students play for the
dance students so they can see and feel the connection between rhythm
& movement. Jill has produced her own CD to learn basic drumming
rhythms.
Philosophy: This unique style is a fascinating fusion of
improvised moves & grooves, inspired by the evolution of gypsy tribes
through out the world. Tribal style bellydancing has made it
possible to me as a teacher to teach this wonderful dance language &
see the confidence in students as they explore the endless
combinations, sharing in the joy of group dynamics & supporting each
other on stage & off stage, in friendship & harmony.
